Newly planted trees are on the front campus alongside their stately neighbors.
To ensure a strong tree presence on campus, successive generations of trees must be planted in anticipation of trees that will be lost to age, disease and storms. For instance, on the front campus young healthy specimen trees have been planted to replace trees lost in recent years. These will one day offer the same the high shade canopy to future Princetonians as their majestic neighbors do today.
Another component of the 2006-2016 Campus Plan is to renew soils with organic bio-nutrients in order to maintain Princeton's signature landscape in a healthy state.
